summer camp 2008

June 9-13 Clay and Ceramics – In-depth study of clay and ceramics. Try hand-building, wheel throwing, and using molds. We’ll also cover glaze techniques and design.
   
June 16-20 Famous Artists—Learn about famous artists and create crafts inspired by their work, including Matisse paper collages, Calder mobiles and more
   
June 23-27 Art & Science—Use scientific principles to create art, including spin art, sink-and-float soap, solar system wind chimes, and more.
   
July 7-11 All About AustinLearn about our home city and make projects based on uniquely Austin ideas. Sample projects: origami bats, mosaic wildflower pots.
   
July 14-18 Green Crafting—Go Green! Make totally cool stuff from recycled things. Sample projects include make-your-own shrink plastic, repurposing t-shirts, and found object mosaic.
   
July 21-25 Young Writer’s Workshop—A double dose of creativity! Make your own comic books, journals and bookmarks, and try different styles of writing.
   
August 4-8 Fab Fabrics—Experience a variety of textile making and adornment techniques, including tie-dye, embroidery, silk painting, sewing, and more.
   
August 11-15 Crafting Trends –Straight from the websites of the hippest of crafters, experience  fun and exciting new craft media and projects, including polymer clay, felt creatures, shrink plastic, paper clay tile, and more.

Individual Day: $35
Full Week: $158 (10% savings)
Package of Two Full Weeks: $298 (15% savings).
Sibling discounts available.

Early drop-off/late pickup available for an additional fee.

Cost includes all materials, healthy snacks, and camp shirt/smock (for full week participants)
